We are pleased to announce that we have supplied the Metropolitan Police with two of our Wi-Fi Marketing devices, that will be used to send out public safety announcements during the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday 29th April 2011.

With thousands of people expected to be in Central London to catch a glimpse of the happy couple, there are always security worries.
Wi-Fi marketing is the way the police like to reach out to the crowds and help people stay safe.
One of the benefits of our Wi-Fi marketing devices is that they are stand-alone and do not need a PC or Laptop to run, meaning that they can be carried around easily.
They can also be managed remotely, meaning that the police will be able to change the content from a location away from the crowds.
Plus, Wi-Fi marketing can also send content to iPhones, Blackberrys, Android Devices and more, meaning that the police can reach out to everyone.
So, all that is left is for us to wish Prince William and Kate Middleton a very happy marriage.

Security Messages for the Royal Wedding
Tuesday, April 19th, 2011Get ready for Wi-Fi direct
Monday, March 14th, 2011Here at TextBlue, we constantly strive to be at the forefront of technology.
As part of this, we are already working on a brand new marketing solution, before the phones it will work on have even been manufactured.
Recently, we were made aware that phone manufacturers are going to start creating phones with Wi-Fi direct.
Basically, businesses will be able to send out a request to phones, to connect to a Wi-Fi network. This is great for Wi-Fi marketing because it means that you will be able to send out a request to phones, to receive your advertisement (in a very similar way to how Bluetooth marketing works), instead of having to wait for them to connect to your Hotspot (access point).
Until Wi-Fi direct comes into force (we expect the products to be available in the first quarter of 2012), you can start reaping the benefits of Wi-Fi marketing now, with the TextBlue Networker Extreme and the TextBlue Mini Extreme.
These let you send content to iPhones, Blackberrys, iPads, iPods, Android Devices and more.

Mobile Websites from TextBlue
Friday, March 11th, 2011TextBlue can now offer your business a mobile website.
When your customers try to view your website on a smaller screen than a PC monitor, it may not appear in a way that is easy-to-read or see.
This is why TextBlue have just created a new service, whereby you can have a specially-designed website just for mobile phones.
We condense the content from your main site to make it easier to read on a phone and provide large, click-able navigation buttons.
Plus, that is not all… We can also provide you with the coding required to automatically divert people from your main site to your mobile site if they are using a phone.
We also incorporate your logo at the top of the home screen and images of any of the products that you sell.
We can provide you with the contact page as well.
By having a mobile website, you would be joining a long list of major companies that now have one – The Train Line, See Tickets and Facebook.
So, what are you waiting for? Give us a call today on 0800 633 8485 to find out more.
Which phones were the most popular in 2010?
Monday, February 14th, 2011A few days ago, the breakdown of worldwide mobile phone sales in 2010 was released.
In total, 1.6 billion phones were sold last year (up 32% on the previous year) meaning our marketing technology is more useful than ever.
One in five mobile phones sold were Smartphones; which is why we have just launched our new range of Wi-Fi marketing products.
Apple were incredibly successful; with sales of the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4 meaning the company’s global mobile market share leapt from 2.1% to 2.9%. This is why we have made sure our products are compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod.
The top phone manufacturer was Nokia; but even they saw a reduction from 36.4% to 28.9%. Samsung was second on 17.6% (down 2%), followed by LG, who experienced a decline from 10.1% to 7.1%.
So, what does this mean?
Well, it means… don’t worry. Even if you can’t afford to get one of our Wi-Fi marketing products, there are still plenty of phones out there that allow for Bluetooth marketing.
Introducing Wi-Fi Marketing
Monday, January 24th, 2011Wi-Fi Marketing is the future of mobile phone marketing because it allows your business to send adverts and messages to people with iPhones, Blackberrys and android phones. These customers may not have access to Bluetooth but would certainly want to take advantage of using a fast Wi-Fi internet connection. With most people using their phones to access the Internet, the Wi-Fi Marketing service will help your business reach out to those people – whether it is to raise awareness about crime or to advertise your latest special offer.
Plus, every time someone connects to your Wi-Fi they automatically get re-directed to a page that tells them they are using your company’s internet and it is this screen that we alter for you.
If you decide to buy the equipment that allows you to send these messages TextBlue customise your website so that it works on mobile phones as well as creating the advertisement or screen that appears when the customer connects, but the following things are the current benefits of using Wi-Fi:
• Most phone users want to connect to high-speed internet
• Our technology a one-off investment for your company and will be a useful marketing tool for years
• It works with phones and laptops, meaning that you can reach double the number of people
Our Wi-Fi marketing pricing is extremely low considering that it is the latest technology.
If you already have the TextBlue Mini or the TextBlue Networker it will only cost an additional £500 to send messages using Wi-Fi, although we can provide the complete Bluetooth and Wi-Fi system on a rental package if preferred, which costs £150 per month on a minimum 3 month contract.
This WiFi unit allows the TextBlue Mini and the TextBlue Networker to support iPhones, Blackberry’s, Android devices, iPad’s and iPods.
Wi-Fi Marketing can be used in almost any industry to help increase sales and raise awareness by sending information to people the moment they connect to your high speed internet connection. And, what’s more, it’s totally FREE!!
Take a look below to see how Wi-Fi Marketing from TextBlue can make a positive difference to your business:
• Restaurants and Cafés – When people to go to restaurants they often want to access the internet whilst enjoying their food. To do this they will access your free Wi-Fi service, at which point a page will appear showing them the latest special offers and advertising what food is for sale. Restaurants also benefit from our Bluetooth Marketing so please take a look at our Bluetooth Advertising section for more information.
• Trains – Passengers on trains can now get Wi-Fi and if you are a train provider you can take advantage of this by advertising your latest ticket prices and special offers when people connect to the internet. Train stations can also benefit from Bluetooth Advertising so please take a look if you want more information.
• Universities – Many students use laptops when they are around campus, so it is worthwhile for libraries and shops to take advantage of this and send out information on what DVDs are for hire or what products are in store. Libraries can also take advantage of our SMS Bulk Messaging to send texts to students reminding them when books are due. Find out more on our SMS Messaging pages.
• Shopping Centres – Adding free Wi-Fi to shopping centre customers is an incentive for them to visit, because they can access the Internet on their phone whilst browsing the shelves or taking a break. Your business could not only be the Wi-Fi provider for the centre but also the company that is featured on the screen when people access it, giving you the advantage over all the other shops. We can also create you a mobile website to make it easier for people to find out all about your company from a phone. Shopping Centres also benefit from our Bluetooth Marketing so please take a look at the Bluetooth Advertising section to find out more.
• Car Dealerships – Whilst browsing the forecourt a customer may suddenly want to access the internet on their phone or from a laptop to find out more information about the car they are interested in. As they do this a screen will appear showing the latest deal you have to offer. This may persuade a customer who was having doubts about one car to consider looking into buying another. Car Dealerships will also benefit from our Bulk SMS Text Message Service, please take a look at our Bulk SMS Text section for more information.
• Tradeshows – When people visit Tradeshows they often want to be able to access the Internet to find out more about which businesses are there. With Wi-Fi Marketing you would be able to send out a message letting people know your company has a stand and containing basic information, as they connect to the Internet using their phone. We can also create you a mobile website to make it easier for people to find out all about your company from a phone. Tradeshows can also benefit from our Bluetooth Advertising and more information is available on that section of the website.
