International SMS Marketing Rates

November 30th, 2011

One of the benefits of SMS Marketing is that you can send text messages to any organisation throughout the world.

TextBlue provide fantastic international SMS rates to help all our SMS Marketing customers take advantage of this effective form of marketing.

Full pricing is automatically calculated, by the SMS Marketing control panel, before you send your message; even if you are sending an SMS to a group that contains mobile numbers from different countries.

International SMS rates apply to the country the receiver’s phone is registered in. This means that, if the phone was registered in the U.K., no matter where in the world that person is, they will only be charged 1 SMS Marketing credit (but the handset owner may be charged roaming fees, depending on the contract with their mobile operator).

SIM cards that add NFC to Existing Phones

September 16th, 2011

Korean mobile network operator SK Telecom has announced an NFC-enabled USIM card that enables existing mobile phones to be turned into NFC devices by simply replacing the existing SIM with one of the new NFC USIMs. The NFC sim cards are expected to cost in the region of £20 to £30 each.

The ‘NFC on USIM’ cards provide standard SIM functions plus a near field communication antenna and an NFC controller — all on one, small chip. The new NFC USIM will be available in October 2011.

As well as payments, the NFC USIM can be used to support peer-to-peer communications. A phone equipped with the new SIM can be used to receive product information in stores, mobile advertisements and coupons, conduct real-time account transfers between handsets, exchange electronic business cards, check-in to hotels, unlock doors and verify the user on PCs.

Google +1 – a new way to get your business noticed

July 28th, 2011

Over a year ago, Facebook introduced Facebook Likes – a feature that allows users to share the things they love with their friends.

Never a company to be outdone, Google have now introduced their own version; Google +1.

Recently launched, it gives people the chance to recommend a website to everyone in their Google network; and also puts the number of recommendations in the search results for the world to see.

The more +1s a website has, the more recommendations it has received.

As part of our new SEO (Search Engine Optimisation service (where we identify and resolve any issues we find with your site), TextBlue can add the Google +1 button to your website.

Not only does this allow you to stay at the forefront of technology, you will also be allowing people to spread the word about your site – getting you more traffic and generating enquiries.

Google Panda affects websites that once ranked highly on Google

July 14th, 2011

Earlier this year, Google introduced Google Panda, which caused many businesses to take a dramatic fall from the top of Google search results to the bottom.

The Google Panda/Farmer Algorithm gives websites a negative ranking if they contain a lot of advertisements or content from around the web.

Features such as automatic news feeds, that search the internet for industry-related news, no longer help you get higher up the search results.

Ever since the Panda/Farmer Algorithm was introduced, the only real way of getting your site up the search results is to put unique content on there regularly.

This does, of course, takes a lot of time. Time that many businesses do not have.

This is why getting an SEO-company on board is more important than ever.

Companies, like ours, can write blogs for you and make regular changes to your site, as well as ensuring your search terms are well-promoted.

If you would like some further information about this, or any SEO-related news and issues, please feel free to get in touch on 0800 633 8485, or e-mail support@textblue.co.uk.

How Professional Services can benefit Guest Houses and Hotels

July 13th, 2011

TextBlue can provide Guest Houses and Hotels with a wide range of diverse marketing products and services, from Bluetooth marketing devices to Search Engine Optimisation.

It is often difficult to know which option will be the most effective and beneficial, which is why we provide Professional Services.

We can act as your marketing team; liaising with you over the phone and at the Guest House/Hotel to draw up an effective marketing strategy and put it into operation.

An advantage of using TextBlue is that we can provide you with any of our marketing products (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, QR-Code) that we feel may be beneficial to you, as well as installing and managing them on your behalf.

For example, after sitting down and speaking with you, we may decide that the best way of promoting your business is to get your guests to write reviews on Facebook and Google Places. To encourage them to do this, we could send out a list of Things to Do in your area (via. Wi-Fi). This is great customer service and will certainly increase the amount of people that are prepared to leave a glowing review about their stay.

In addition to this, as your marketing team, we would promote your Guest House/Hotel by adding a blog to your website; which we would then use to promote special offers and events. We would contact you via. e-mail, telephone meeting or visiting your Guest House/Hotel, get all the information you would like us to blog about and then write them for you in a search-engine friendly way.

All blogs would also be submitted to your Facebook and Twitter pages, which we would manage for you.

In addition to this, we can create you a FourSquare and Facebook Places account. It is now incredibly common for people to ‘check-in’ to places they visit on Facebook and FourSquare; letting their friends and online communities know where they are. This will benefit Guest Houses/Hotels a lot because people are coming and going all the time, so you will keep get mentioned on these sites. We can manage your Facebook Places and FourSquare accounts for you, as well as setting up any special promotions you wish to give to people that ‘check-in’.

Our Professional Services cost £950 + VAT per month.

Benefits of QR-Code Marketing – Estate Agents

June 10th, 2011

QR-Code Marketing can benefit Estate Agents in two main ways; by placing a QR-Code next to every property or by putting a QR-Code onto each sales pack that is distributed from the office.

Placing a QR-Code next to every property:

As potential buyers are passing-by the properties you have for sale, they may want to find out more information. Most people have a mobile phone on them, but your office may not be open for them to call – or the lines could be busy.

However, if you put a QR-Code onto the For Sale signs, when your viewers scan in the code they will automatically get directed to the relevant property information.

Our QR-Code marketing system allows you to securely input images and information about your properties within minutes, using our special Estate Agent Template; as well as allowing you to monitor how many people scanned in the code and how long they spent browsing the information page. You can also add clickable buttons that give directions to the sales office, allow people to call you or to view a business card.

Please note: Our Bluetooth Marketing devices can also be used for the same purpose. By placing a transmitter into each property, passers-by will be sent a request to either download your business card or view property information (whichever you prefer). You can monitor how many people accepted, rejected and ignored your download request too.

Putting a QR-Code onto each sales pack:

One of the main benefits of QR-Code marketing over Bluetooth marketing is the ability for people to access the information from the comfort of their own home.

Often, after coming into the Estate Agency, people will take home an information pack, so that they can browse the information in private.

Placing QR-Codes onto different pages in the information packs, and directing people to the relevant pages you have created on our system, will allow potential customers to get a more in-depth insight into what they are reading; as you can provide extra images and information.

Sound like something you would be interested in? We are currently offering everyone a month’s trial of our QR-Code marketing system for free.

If you would like to find out more about, please give us a call on 0800 633 8485, or create an account by clicking here.

Benefits of QR-Code Marketing – Nightclubs

May 20th, 2011

TextBlue are always looking for the latest mobile marketing solutions – and have recently added a QR-Code marketing platform to the many services we provide.

Nightclubs are one of the many businesses that can benefit from QR-Code marketing (amongst other mobile marketing solutions); especially in this day and age – when authorities are stopping many Nightclubs from advertising using flyers.

QR-Codes are scannable barcodes and, when they are scanned in (using a QR-Code/Barcode Scanner) they direct people to a specific page.

Nightclub owners can use QR-Codes for marketing purposes by supplying staff (from bar workers to DJs) with t-shirts that have a QR-Code printed onto them; so that Nightclub customers/potential customers can scan the code in (using their phone) and access a promotion – whether it be free entry to the Nightclub (before 8pm) or a free drink.

Plus, we are currently developing a Nightclub template, which will allow Nightclub customers to share the promotion with their Facebook Friends, Twitter Followers and E-mail Contacts.

Nightclub staff can then log-in to our QR-Code marketing system to access statistics (including how many people scanned in the QR-Code) and change the promotion (in a similar way to Bluetooth advertising).

If this is something you would be interested in using, we would like to offer you a free 1 month trial, so that you can see whether or not it is a marketing strategy that you would like to use.

Full instructions, on setting up and using a QR-Code marketing account, are available from http://www.textblue.co.uk/QR_Code_Marketing/users/instruction.
